The MSMS Foundation executive committee is pleased to announce Emily Liner as the new MSMS Alumni Association President.
A 2004 MSMS graduate and Bay Saint Louis native, Liner received a bachelor’s degree in government from Georgetown University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina. During her career, she led civic engagement initiatives for a Fortune 500 tech company, advised policy makers on a wide range of economic issues and helped Congressional candidates build financial resources to run for office.
Liner lived on the East Coast for 15 years but stayed close to home by volunteering for the MSMS Alumni Association as Meetup Chair as well as serving as an instructor at Mississippi Governor’s School. She moved backed to Mississippi this year and is planning to open Friendly City Books, an independent bookstore in downtown Columbus.
As the new MSMS Alumni Association President, Liner plans to strengthen connections between alumni and the school.
“MSMS alumni are uniquely invested in our school’s success, and many have sought to be more involved in efforts like increasing diversity, mentoring students, and advocating for funding,” she said.
The Alumni Association is a standing committee of the MSMS Foundation. The Alumni Association president serves as an executive member of the Foundation Board of Directors.
“I am committed to making the Alumni Association an active hub for information, introductions, and involvement opportunities,” Liner said.
