Iris Xue Named First Alternate In DYW of Mississippi

Congratulations to upcoming senior Iris Xue for winning 1st alternate in the Mississippi Distinguished Young Women (DYW) Scholarship Competition! In addition to placing 1st alternate and receiving a $5,000 scholarship, Xue also earned $2,000 for winning Overall Scholastics and $400 for a Self-Expression Preliminary Award, totaling to $7,400.

The Distinguished Young Women competition, formerly known as America’s Junior Miss, celebrated its 66th annual competition. Founded in 1958, the competition showcases the accomplishments of high school senior girls seeking to pursue higher education. To date this program has awarded over $118 million in cash scholarships to young aspiring women.

The Class of 2024 DYW competition welcomed 29 Mississippi girls to compete for $33,400 in scholarships in the five competition areas of scholastics, interview, self-expression, talent, and fitness.
