Eligibility
- Must be currently enrolled in 7th, 8th, or 9th grade
- Must be a Mississippi resident attending a Mississippi school.
- Must submit a current transcript or most recent grade report for enrollment verification.
- Must demonstrate potential for high academic achievement, preferably in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Math).
- Priority consideration will be given to students from economically disadvantaged households and low-performing school districts.
Required Documents
When completing the 2024 AAYME Application, applicants must upload a document that verifies the student’s current school, current classification (grade level), Fall 2023 classes, and Fall 2023 grades in each class. An electronic copy of the student’s UNOFFICIAL transcript, grade report, or report card is acceptable (official transcripts are NOT required).
The uploaded document(s) can be in any format and must include and show all of the following student information:
- First & Last name
- Current school
- Current grade (7th, 8th, 9th)
- Classes taken between August 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023
- Grades earned in each class as of December 31, 2023 (S1 or T2 grades)
Applications that are missing any of the above information will not be reviewed.
All information provided in the AAYME application will be held in the strictest confidence and will only be viewed by authorized personnel who have signed a data privacy and confidentiality agreement.
