The Halloween season is upon us, and to celebrate Ms. Angie Jones’ sculpture students have been hard at work carving pumpkins for the annual pumpkin carving contest.
Last week, Ms. Jones’ students took a field trip to Country Pumpkins in Caledonia, where each student selected a pumpkin to serve as their canvas. Over the past week, students have developed their designs and created their masterpieces.
Monday afternoon the official contest was held, judged by Dr. Kayla Hester, Ms. Latoya Bledsoe, and Ms. Julia Morrison. Prizes were awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall pumpkins as well as Most Creative and Honorable Mention.
