2007 ALUMNA EARNS PH.D. IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING FROM CARNEGIE MELLON INSTITUTE

Congratulations to 2007 alumna KristIn Warren who recently became the first black female to earn a PhD in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon Institute in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.

Warren also holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Kettering University and has worked for General Motors and Eli Lilly and Company. Her doctoral work was funded through a scholarship from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Warren is originally from Hernando, Mississippi. You can read more about her here.
