Fourteen MSMS Creative Writing students traveled to Jackson recently to receive regional awards from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards program in a ceremony held on the front lawn of the Eudora Welty House on Pinehurst Street.
Before the ceremony students were treated to a picnic lunch at Millsaps College, then toured the Eudora Welty House and museum. As a national Gold Medalist, Victoria Gong read from her short story “Game of Life” to the assembled audience of 400 students and parents.
