MSMS STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: Nora Foster Class of 2027

I am from Brewer, a small community right outside of Shannon, Mississippi. I’ve always loved school, but I wasn’t aware of MSMS until September of my sophomore year at Shannon High School. One of my math teachers was the first person to tell me about MSMS, and I kind of laughed it off because I didn’t think there could be a school like it in Mississippi. I was later sent a letter about the school encouraging me to apply, and I saw that there would be a Super Night in Tupelo that month. After attending Super Night, I went on a Saturday tour in December, and the second I stepped onto campus, I knew this was the school for me.

For senior year I am most excited about all of the senior activities we have planned. The memories made at school events are often the best, and I’m excited to make more memories throughout the year with my classmates.

The project I’m most proud of is being a 2026 Tales from the Crypt performer. The experience of taking the class, researching, auditioning, and practicing every week with my classmates led to some of my best memories. The community around Tales is one of the best, and we grew closer together as the year came to an end. After each performance night, we all came together to eat in the cemetery, sharing laughs and stories from the night. Tales from the Crypt has made a big impact on my life, and I talk about it all the time. Every tour I give, I make sure to put the class in the spotlight and encourage everyone to take it.

One of my favorite memories from junior year is going to play volleyball on the weekends. We would go out around nine to the Green Space on Friday and Saturday nights and play volleyball until room checks.

Outside of school, I enjoy cooking, traveling, and crafting with my grandmother.
